Current Status : Booking Projects for January - February 2017
I have loved all creative outlets since I was a young girl, in high school I had a painting featured in a local art gallery and I crocheted my first blanket. My mother still has the painting, which is of a tiger, hanging in her living room after all this time. My mom is an amazing woman whose support has meant so much to me. She kept me anchored after I decided to enlist in the military in 2005. I deployed in 2006 to Iraq and gained so much perspective on life over the following 15 months. During my deployment I also meet the love of my life David, and perhaps if we become friends I can tell you the story of the day we meet and the challenges we faced and overcame together.
I came home on Christmas Eve of 2007 and David returned the following day. Just a year after coming home, were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Caylee, who is now 5. She is too smart for her own good, has an unbelievable imagination and gives us limitless reasons to be so proud of her. Our son Chance is a character, he loves making funny faces, sounding out long difficult words in hilarous ways and making anyone laugh uncontrollably. Hes now 3 and his growing love of learning and his unique personality bring us such joy! I also have a handsome step-son who is one of the most loving children I have ever meet. He also never meets a stranger and for a 7 year old that is extremely scary!
I have two gorgeous sisters, both of which are completely different from me and at the same time not so different. Dana is a nursing student and has been working as a dental assistant for some time now. She has excelled as a student and I have no doubt that she will be an excellent and caring nurse in the near future. Amber is 7 years younger than me and until recently she was still my baby sister. Last year she got married, became a step-mom and started working to build her own business. I had to face the fact that shes not so little anymore. She is an extraordinary young woman with an unyielding drive for her passion. She is a Creative Freelance Photographer and if you live in Alabama you should look her up!
I believe that given the right circumstances, Anything is possible! My constant goal is for my current project to be better than my last project and learning is my greatest motivational factor!
In high school I realized the depth of my love for art. I was fortunate enough to have an art instructor who saw my potential and helped me develop skills that have been the foundation for my growth as an artist and a designer. After high school I enlisted and deployed with the army. While deployed I was recruited to paint murals on concrete walls in Iraq marking our brigade and battalion with a few other soldiers who shared my talent. I also received my first nifty camera while I was overseas and my passion grew to encompass digital photography!
After returning home I consulted with ITT Tech to study photography to refine my technical skills. While the program I entered did feature photography, it also encompassed visual communication and multimedia. Again, my passion grew! I finished my degree and was the Valedictorian of my class (and a new mom), this was a very proud time for me! My last course before graduating introduced me to Web Design and it encompassed everything I loved doing. I ventured off to The Art Institute began studing Web Design and Interactive Media. I loved my time as an student and had the variety of artist that I had the pleasure of working with.
I know now that I will always be a student in a sense, and I believe that is a big part of what drives me. I learn more everyday and I am grateful to my clients for challenging me with new projects and unique perspectives. I am also grateful to the ever changing technology that keeps me on my toes and excited about what the future holds for my profession.
Professionally I specialize in Web Design and Branding! I also love designing invitations, photo collages, scrapbooks and anything else that is creative. I sometimes am even guilty of coloring in children's coloring books, my kids love it.
